The Diamond Valley Arts Center (DVAC) will be hosting a Cultural Series Lecture on “Nancy Drew, the Original Author, & Me” on Sunday, Feb. 17, at noon.
This lecture is given by Nancy Hawkins who was a friend and coworker to Mildred Wirt Benson, the author of the first 23 Nancy Drew books. Her presentation will give insight and interest to the life of the famed author. Patrons will enjoy stories and memories shared during the women’s almost 18-year friendship known only to them.
The Diamond Valley Arts Council is proud to present this exploration into this famed author through the first-hand accounts of her dear friend. Delving into the author’s world through stories and photos, you are sure to leave with a new appreciation of the woman behind the best-selling novels.
The presentation is free to the public. Patrons have the opportunity of ordering lunch with their RSVP. Lunch orders must be placed and paid for in advance. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation starting at noon.
This presentation is a part of the Diamond Valley Arts Council’s Culture Series. This event is a community enrichment program and fundraiser by the DVAC in the continued effort to better our community. Please contact the DVAC for volunteer and sponsorship opportunities at dvacinfo@gmail.com.
