The Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation is advancing its Legacy Fund by honoring Superintendent/President Dr. Roger W. Schultz with the upcoming Schultz’s Eagles Nest: A Speakeasy for Scholars, a signature fundraising event taking place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
As part of the broader Dr. Roger W. Schultz Legacy Fund Campaign, the event supports the Foundation’s goal of raising $100,000 by June 2026 to benefit student success initiatives and the MSJC University Center.
Schultz’s Eagles Nest will offer a distinctive 1920s-inspired speakeasy experience, bringing together community leaders, partners, alumni, and supporters for an evening of live entertainment, gaming tables, and philanthropy in support of MSJC students.
Tickets remain available, and the community is encouraged to attend and participate in this unique celebration of impact and legacy.
Dr. Schultz, who will retire in June 2026 after 25 years of service, including 19 years as President, has led MSJC through a period of significant growth, expanding access to education, strengthening workforce pathways, and elevating student success across Southwest Riverside County.
“The true legacy of MSJC isn’t mine—it belongs to the thousands of students whose lives have been changed here,” said Dr. Schultz. “If I’ve played even a small part in helping them reach their dreams, then my career has been more meaningful than I could have ever imagined.”
Demonstrating his personal commitment, Dr. Schultz launched the campaign with a $10,000 inaugural gift, joined by early leadership support from MSJC Trustee Calvin Smith and his wife, Debbie, who contributed $5,000.
The event is co-hosted by the Southwest Riverside County Higher Education Coalition, underscoring the importance of regional collaboration in expanding access to higher education.
“This event represents the very best of what regional partnership can achieve,” said Dr. Lisa DeForest, Chair of the Southwest Riverside County Higher Education Coalition. “By coming together in support of students and honoring Dr. Schultz’s extraordinary legacy, we are strengthening pathways to opportunity and ensuring that our communities continue to thrive through education.”
Funds raised through the Legacy Fund will directly support priorities championed by Dr. Schultz:
• 25% will fund student success initiatives, including scholarships, emergency assistance, and basic needs
• 75% will be endowed to support the MSJC University Center, expanding access to affordable bachelor’s degrees locally
The MSJC Foundation extends its appreciation to the organizations whose leadership is helping drive the campaign forward:
Champions Sponsor:
• Southwest Healthcare (Temecula Valley Hospital, Inland Valley Medical Center, Rancho Springs Medical Center)

Additional sponsorship opportunities remain available for organizations and individuals who wish to be part of this legacy effort.
The Legacy Fund Campaign will culminate with a second celebration, the Totally 80’s Celebration on June 13, 2026, honoring Dr. Schultz’s retirement and the lasting impact of his leadership.
Community members are invited to attend, sponsor, or contribute to the campaign and help ensure that Dr. Schultz’s legacy continues to support MSJC students for generations to come.
